My first customer was developed from international trade net. After my first e-mail to establish business relationship, the customer replied and listed out several terms of contractor for our future business.He didn’t want to do business with his previous supplier. He said he would pay a visit and have an inspection to my company and then sign a contractor with lawyers’ witness. Being the first time doing business with me, I needed to get the invitation from the government for his visit to China. I asked him to send me his passport, visa, and visiting China record if he had been to China before. Soon, he sent me three persons (A,B,C) above documents. I printed out and presented them to the government with my application letter. The government checked the documents and found out that there was no passport No. on the entry/exit stamp page(visiting China record). This was not allowed to apply the invitation. I came back and told this to him. He replied me that it was his secretary made the mistake, his secretary didn’t scan the visa No. on that page. He told me now his managers(A,B,C) were not in Negiria and he was impossible to get their passport and resend to me. Then he sent his two lawyers’ (D & E) documents to me. At the same time, he called his manager A, who was abroad,to send me the correct stamp page with passport No. directly. He requested me to apply the invitation for A, D & E. So I went to the government again. This time, the government people found out that there was passport No. on A’s stamp page, but the entry/exit date was out of the visa’s period of validity. I blamed myself for not checking out this before I came to the government. I failed again. I told him that the document A sent to me was wrong. Then he sent his wife’s document to me. He requested me to apply the invitation for D, E and his wife. I went to the government and presented the documents again. Oh, my God! The visa and the passport was different No, one was old, one was new. What’s more, the birth date on the new passport and on the old passport’s visa was different! I was very sad, and went back again without results. He called me and asked me whether I had got the invitation. ( In fact, he called me several times asking me the result, even in the early morning when I was still in deep sleeping.) He heard my statement about the result, didn’t say anything and asked me to apply the invitation for himself and D & E. He told me that I must help him to get the invitation. I thought I could not give up, because I had done so much and I could not waste my efforts. So I went to the government again, although it was a little far from my company. This time, the government refused to accept my application, because my customer had no credit standing to them now. They told me if I insisted to get the invitation, they must meet the legal representative (my boss) of my company. But my boss didn’t want to take the risk. My boss refused to meet the government. Then I wrote an e-mail, said that the government could not permit the invitation. He replied that he was shocked and unhappy. He said he had borrowed money from his bank to do business with me, if he could not visit China and do business with me, he had to pay 15% interests for the money borrowed. I was worried and suggested him two way to go ahead: the first, send me the contacts of his previous supplier to let the government make a survey and trust him that he had do business with China. Second, make a small order before visit my China company, then the government would release his invitation to visit China. Soon he sent me contacts of his previous supplier. I informed him that the government would not make the survey and I have no way to go ahead. Several days later, he made his first order with me, although it was small order.
